About Us!
We're Revs. Drs. Bil & Cher Holton -- and prefer you just call us Bil and Cher! Our passion is creating a safe space where folks who choose to be more spiritual than religious can come together to search, share, question, and grow! We combine a flair for the dramatic, a deep understanding of MetaSpiritual teachings, an ability to think outside the box, and a knack for bringing scientific research and spiritual practices to life in practical ways! Combining Evidence-based Science, Faith-based Spirituality, Metaphor-based Understanding, and Experience-based Psychic Abilities is at the heart of what we do at our GCSA Community.
We bring quite a background of experience and depth of knowledge to this special ministry. It all began back in 1984, when together we founded The Holton Consulting Group, Inc., which is still alive and well today because we are good at combining secular business teachings with our ongoing Spiritual practices! We have worked with clients in the U.S., Canada, Germany, England, and South America, with a mission of leading, guiding, and inspiring people and organizations to live productively and joyfully at the speed of life … one choice at a time. Our clients include Fortune 100 companies, healthcare facilities, universities, associations and government agencies.
As a subsidiary of our consulting firm, we created two publishing enterprises: Liberty Publishing Group (focusing on professional and personal development publications) and Prosperity Publishing House (focusing on books for spiritual enrichment and education). We have published over 50 titles, including The Manager’s Short Course to a Long Career which was selected by SoundView Executive Summaries as one of their Top 30 Business Books; New Metaphysical Versions of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John — the first ever verse-by-verse metaphysical interpretation of the four Gospels; and The Book of Revelation, New Metaphysical Version, a manual describing the unfoldment of our Christ Nature. In 2005, we made the decision to follow our hearts, and entered into a spiritual training program that led us to become ordained Unity ministers. After eight years serving in pulpit ministries, we created a 501c(3) Unity-approved, Events-driven Alternative Ministry, featuring our unique Spiritual Cafés, Spiritual Pop-Up Events, Training, Retreats, and Spiritual Mentoring Groups.
In 2023, we made the decision to become independent of any religious entity, and changed our ministry to a subsidiary of Holton Consulting Group, Inc., doing business as The Global Center for Spiritual Awakening. We are committed to a more global, events-driven ministry with a spiritual mission to lead, guide, and inspire people all over the world to awaken to their Divine Nature so they can live faithfully, lovingly, and wisely at the speed of their Enlightenment. We are known as being somewhat rebellious, creative, and challenging spiritual leaders who have placed the trojan horse of science and spirituality into the Troy of dogmatic religions, because we question unquestioned answers. In other words, we don't do dogma!

Rev. Bil Holton, Ph.D.
Rev. Dr. Bil has been exploring the depths of spirituality since he was 12 years old, which has led him to write, speak, coach, and publish for his entire adult life. Rev. Bil has a solid reputation for his strength of character, engaging personality, and strong work ethic ... as well as his sharp humor and a way with words that has led to many "Bil-isms!" His metaphysical teachings and his ability to bring spiritual Truths into such clarity that people are able to walk the spiritual path with practical feet put him in high demand as a nontraditional spiritual teacher and spiritual mentor. When he isn’t involved in work and research, Bil enjoys golf, travel, jigsaw puzzles, the theatre, landscaping, small cups of Goodberry's frozen custard!
Rev. Cher Holton, Ph.D.
Rev. Dr. Cher claims her name is an acronym for her personal mission: Creating Hope, Enthusiasm, and Results … and she brings her zest for living and her practical applications of Truth principles to everything she does. Her background includes being a “Preacher’s Kid,” a Certified Speaking Professional, and a Certified Management Consultant, which make her a much-sought-after facilitator, speaker, and mentor. Her passion is creating practical applications for Truth Principles, and helping others make their lives a spiritual practice! When she isn’t involved in spiritual work and study, Cher enjoys a good mystery novel, crossword & logic puzzles, the theatre, travel, Paris, design work, and a great cup of flavored coffee from her Keurig!
On a Personal Note:
On a personal note, we like to push the envelope and maintain our zest for life by taking what we call “Indiana Jones Adventures,” such as white-water rafting, skydiving, and fire walking. American-style ballroom dancing is also in our DNA. Although we have retired our competitive dance shoes, we enjoy performing ballroom showcases and exhibitions. We love living in beautiful North Carolina. Life is good!
